The aim of the project is to analyse the relations between society and church in periods of rapid and far-reaching changes.The periods we are studying are 1808-09, when Finland became an autonomous grand duchy within the Czar of Russia's Empire, the changes in the relation between state and church in Sweden and Finland during the 1990's and the consequences of the new rule in Hong Kong in 1997 for the churches and other religions.
